Both Amazon and Sony are great companies and I use them often. But - I purchased this item in November for a Christmas gift. Now it is March and there is a plug problem with the unit. Amazon sent me to Sony and Sony is charging $33 for a refurbished unit as the warranty. That is 1/3rd the price of a new unit. The new unit is less than six months old. WHAT KIND OF WARRANTY IS THAT? If I get one for me, I WILL NOT USE SONY.

This has been great. I like that it came with the remote and car adapter included. It has great battery life, it lives up tot he 5 hour claim. There are some functions on the remote that aren't on the main unit, but that's normal and it wasn't a big deal. I am very pleased with it. I've used it more than a dozen times since I got it in less than a month, and it's not had one glitch. It even plays worn DVDs that won't play in my nicer TV room unit.

we bought this for our toddler who won't wear headphones cause the sound is awesome. Wish it came with a set of headphones for other people but not a deal breaker and the price was great!

This is a nice little DVD play; you can easily watch two movies on the battery power. The LCD is the old style not the shiny new ones that are out now. The picture is pretty nice with no glare from sunlight.

some people had an issue with the sound - to me the sound is great. it can get really loud, which is surprising because really, how far could you sit from a screen that size? what's funny is that i bought it so that i could do my workout dvds (ok, dance dvds) anywhere in my house...and i always hear it and it is great audio-wise.
as for the resolution, i am pretty impressed. what i like the most is that you don't need the remote to control it - you can jump to the menu screen and use the 'arrows' on the actual unit - or you could use the remote. at first i thought it was wierd that such a portable device would even have a remote, but now i like it. i use it while i'm typing and doing movie reviews, so the remote helps so the screen isn't super close to me...and ps the remote comes with a battery! another reason why to like. would i buy it again? yes. and that's big considering i had looked at other models, from other brands. this one was definately the right choice.
