It seemed to work ok, but twice (in the three times I used it) it has blown the fuse in the cigarette-lighter circuit of my car (a 15-amp circuit). I don't feel like buying more fuses, so I will not be using it again. Don't waste your money on this item.

I was hesitant when purchasing this item, assuming I would "get what I payed for", but this is not the case. To my pleasant surprise, this product actually works, and it was under 14 bucks including shipping. The sound quality is very good (some high frequencies when music isn't playing), and the item is sleek.
Buy this item if:
*You want to effectively play and charge your ipod,
*You drive an automatic (so it will not interfere with your stick shift on standards),
*You own an iTouch or iPhone.
DO NOT buy this item if:
*You drive a standard vehicle,
*You own anything but an iTouch or iPhone,
*You want the "best of the best".
Also, the remote does not work unless you point directly to the transmitter, which is located at the top (it's useless).

The transmitter part of this unit is excellant. The sound quality with use of the iPod portion of my phone is amazing. Crystal clear with no interference.
I do have a few complaints though:
1. There are no detailed instructions on how to use handsfree included. There are minimal instructions on the outside of the box.
2. The handsfree portion of this device is garbage! Not only is it a pain to have to plug in the cord from the device to the phone just to use this part of it, but the sound quality through the car speakers was horrible! (although the person I was talking to did say I was clear). Then to have to unplug the cord again to get back to using the iPod.
3. It doesnt work with my Outerbox case on the phone, therefore I have to take everything off just to use it. The plastic piece that connects to the phone is too wide, and doesnt fit in the slot in the Outerbox.

I bought two of these, for both my and my wife's car. Frankly, I bought it because it was cheap and did not expect much. But it works beautifully. Using the default 88.1 frequency, I get static free very good (but not great - Hey, it's a transmitter) sound quality, even though a local station is on 88.3. The only complaint is that on accelleration, I can hear a slight elctronic whine through the speakers, but it's bearable. Last weekend, I thought it had broken and purchased a $75 Griffin Itrip transmitter at Best Buy to listen to New Orleans Jazzfest live on WWOZ through my Iphone 3G. It had static on all frequencies, essentially sounded like a crappy AM radio. Turns out, my frequency setting on the GTMax had bumped up to 88.7. Now I'm back enjoying WWOZ, Pandora, and ooTunes on my daily commute. The Griffin Itrip is going back to Best Buy, and I am seriously considering dropping XM. Why pay $16 monthly when you can listen to great stations like WWOZ and your own Pandora stations for FREE!

Do not buy this product if you have an I POD TOUCH. I have purchased 2 of these products. If your cigarette lighter port is on the main consol, this product does not work. It doesn't form a tight enough seal between the base unit and lighter creating connection problems. Also the touch is too top heavy and continuosly swings round and does not remain static.
I did not want to star this item but did not have the option.
A poor cheaply made ineffective product. Waste of money!!
