I spent an entire afternoon sifting through reviews here on Amazon before settling for the PMX80. The reason? My Ipod came with the standard ear buds which sounded great, but kept falling out of my ears when I was using the treadmill or jogging. I needed ear phones that could take a good sweat, were sturdy, easily cleaned and comfortable while staying in my ears. I got all that and more with the PMX80.
The sound quality far exceeds that of the standard IPOD phones although I was able to get a tad more volume out of them. Not really a problem as they are plenty loud enough for my workouts. I guess the only thing I would do differently if I had designed them would be to have the wire coming out of the right side instead of the left, but again, no big deal, I just wear my Ipod holder on the left side instead of the right. All in all, this is a quality product that does what it was designed to do very well. I highly recommend it.

I bought these to use running in lieu of PMX60's. But, after 30 mins, sweat will get into them and the audio will sound muffled. No complaints about anything else but I can't use these due to the sweat/muffled sound issue. I will go back to my PMX60's for running. There are no muffled sound issues w/ PMX60's.

Having had the PMX70 and lost them, I naturally opted for the PMX80.
The sound is great as before, that's granted. Here comes the but...
BUT, these earphones have several disadvantages over the former model.
1. The bow is too tight. After wearing these phones for a while I get headaches because they press too hard into my ears, and I can't do anything to mitigate this problem.
2. The left earphone speaker unit falls out of the frame every once in a while and needs to be reassembled.
All in all, I'm sure Sennheiser could have done better with a sturdier assembly and consideration for people whose head is a little bit wider.

I took forever deciding which to buy because I was never finding reviews from runners. BUT finally a runner reviewed this product and I took his recommendation and purchased them. They are great. The cheap buds that came with my ipod were constantly either falling out---especially on hot runs, or my ears would ache from the pressure of them. These stay put perfectly--I have not had to adjust them one bit while running--and because they are not IN my ears I do not get sore. Thanks Sennheiser!

These absolutely are the best running headphones. Man, the bass is just so great. The whole acoustic profile is better reproduced by these over all others I have used. The earbuds fall out, and I have tried those like 15-20 dollar sony wrap around the ear ones, which are okay, but not as great sounding as these. I ran a 15k and they did not hurt my ears or anything like that, but I only ran for 1:16:33 so if I was slower, than maybe LOL. JK. Anyway, these are good RUNNING headphones, but don't think you are gonna wear them to the gym. If you lay down on a bench or tilt your head up too high, they'll shift and/or get in the way. They SUCK if you will be laying on a bench.
