We've been using this item for several months now and have never had a problem. Battery life seems comparable to our experience with other electronics, and the picture on this is flat-out beautiful. While we're not media connoisseurs, we are still discriminating consumers and this item suits us perfectly.

This is a great DVD. Pretty easy to use.... the controls are different but not bad. It keeps my 4 yr old happy in the car..... so it works for me!!

This DVD player worked fine at first, but after about three months the screen worked only intermittently. For example, the picture would play about every third time the unit was turned on. A short time after that it was permanent video fail. Now it plays only the audio of a DVD. I bought the Sony brand because I thought it would be a quality product. What a waste of money.

We've had the player for 4 months and it has functioned very well. So far it has recognized all the DVDs we've put in it, although we haven't tried to play rental DVDs.
Our only complaint is that there isn't a car mounting option for the device. We modified an old mounting case from a different player and solved that problem.

... for a portable DVD player! A bit on the high price end, but it's a Sony product and is supposed to last longer with better quality. The volume control (slider) takes getting used to. Wish it came with a good set of headphones and/or carrying case.
