Found this gem to do almost anything any single remote can do. The only exception I have found is the Nintendo Wii. Easy to program any easy to use.

"DONT BUY THIS REMOTE!!!!!! Setup is Horrible!" 2010-04-04
By TC/CO (Colorado)
DONT BUY THIS REMOTE!!!! It might sound like this is one of the best universal remote controls on the market, but dont be fooled! This is coming from someone who makes their living in the A/V Electronics buisness(I should know better) I chose this remote over a Universal Remote (The Company) because Logitech makes an adapter that works with the PS3. WOW what a mistake! The actual control of the PS3 is not that bad, but thats not the problem. The Software to setup this remote is a complete joke! To setup this remote you have to log onto Logitechs server, setup an account and load all your information. Doesnt sound that bad? Ha! Just wait....their attempt to make the software idiot proof has acutally made it very hard to navigate. It takes forever to figure out how to setup anything custom or change settings for each activity. Once you have loaded all this information and messed with the settings for hours, guess what? Your session on Logitechs server timed you out and you just lost all your information! Why you ask? because all the info. is stored on their server not your computer! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! So you start over....your getting faster because youve done this a couple of times now. You update the remote over the internet so it will load your settings and guess what? Their server froze up! Here we go again! After repeating the above a couple of times it finally all loads and you have your universal remote....but wait...one of settings is not correct. You get to fix the setting and deal with their server all over again!!! If you ever want to change a setting later, be prepared to lose half your info when you update! You will lose your mind! Long, Long, story short, there are better remotes out there and adapters that will control the PS3. It will cost you more but how much is your sanity worth! Dont make the same mistake I did!

"Programming the Harmony One Universal Remote Control" 2010-04-03
By w3
Programming the Harmony One remote via USB and a web interface is a powerful, convenient feature. The software interface provides access to all controls, commands, and devices at a very fine level of detail. While not intuitive, it is relatively quick to come up to speed and effectively program the remote.

The user interface itself is awkward and cumbersome, requiring many repeated clicks to get to the correct screen to edit or add commands. Previously entered device commands can only be deleted and new ones added, so a minor change to a setting such as a delay requires many key strokes. There is no mechanism to specify that a command be repeated a specified number of times, so the work around is simply to enter the device command the over and over again in the command stack -- again, many tedious keystrokes. Finally, it would be very helpful to have the ability to view, or better yet, print out, a text listing of the various programming entries that have been entered (by device or by activity) to allow review and trouble shooting. A modern, drag and drop GUI would be much more intuitive. Luckily, the programming is something that can be improved and updated to the benefit of both existing and future users.

The controller itself is very ergonomic in the hand and has a bright LCD screen and convenient keyboard layout. I would have liked to see an LED indicator added that flashed when an IR command (but not a delay) is emitted by the unit to assist with troubleshooting and operation.

As an Apple Macintosh user, I appreciate the ability to control Apple TV and other Apple products via the Harmony One and encourage Logitech to continue to create a strong integrated environment with Apple products. I also appreciate that I can control my Lutron room light dimmer, but need the IR emitter of the Harmony One to cast a broader horizontal beam (asymmetric spread) or be significantly brighter to consistently reach the wall sensor of the dimmer located 60 degrees away from my AV equipment.

My initial unit was defective in that it would only go into its power-saving state for a few seconds before reawakening. It would repeatedly go through this cycle, eventually running down the rechargeable battery within 90 minutes (rather than over several days as designed). Logitech Customer Service was very responsive in sending a replacement for which I am still awaiting delivery.

"Awesomeness" 2010-04-03
By gabriel williams (new york, NY, US)
My name is Gabriel from New Yok I was in doubt to make this purchase because I dont have the patience to seat for hours to programme codes into remote, but I tried the Harmony one and bought it from Amazon it takes about 5days to arrived. A fter opening the package and down loadiong the model numbers to my computer took about 15minutes I was ready to go. Everything work great I like it so much I bought a second one for my bed room, its a joy to get rid of all my ten remotes. I will recommend anyone to purchase logitech Harmony One remote control its a great product. The only low it does not read through "glass" but that is no big deal good product.

"A bit pricey, a bit complicated, but in the end it's amazing" 2010-04-02
By Peter
I've been waiting on getting a universal remote for some time now. The prices were too high, or the software was too buggy, or the hardware was unintuitive... However, when the Harmony One came out, people swore it was the new gold standard of universal remotes everywhere. So I decided to pull the trigger.

It's definitely quite an investment, as it costs more than some full-featured BluRay players. However, for those with more than two devices hooked up to their TV, I'd say it's a worthwhile one.

The setup is pretty easy; you hook up the remote to your PC, and follow a series of step-by-step directions guiding you through programming and inputting your devices. It took me about 15 minutes, and I have about 5 external devices. (a receiver, DVD player, BluRay player, cable box, and a PC)

The battery life is pretty solid, considering the fact that it contains a color touch screen. I can go for a few weeks at a time without having to recharge it in the docking station. I'm a pretty big fan of the docking station, as it would have been a pain to continually buy batteries for this thing.

Bottom line: if you have parents that are always bugging you about how to use their entertainment system, buy this for them as a gift. If you have a number of devices hooked up to your TV and your cable box's "universal remote" isn't cutting it, buy this for yourself. It's definitely an investment, but it's worth it, I promise you.
